Batumi Botanical Garden  Boasting one of the widest varieties of flora in the world, the garden is 111 hectares and contains flora from nine phyto-geographic areas: East Asia, North America, New Zealand, South America, the Himalayas, Mexico, Australia, the Mediterranean, and the Caucasian humid subtropics. Visitors can wander the botanical garden by foot or in carts, which can be rented from the garden’s administration. Dolphinarium  Located within the 6th of May Park, the Batumi Dolphinarium is one of the most-visited tourist attractions in Batumi. The affordably priced and wildly entertaining dolphin show is done in Georgian, Russian, and English. With its construction beginning in 1881, the 6th of May Park is one of Georgia’s oldest public parks. Piazza Batumi  Piazza Batumi is one of the most beautiful squares in Georgia. There are several hotels, cafés, and restaurants located on Piazza Batumi. In just a few short years, the square has become a popular international entertainment venue. It has recently hosted concerts by famous Georgian and foreign performers, including Placido Domingo, Chris Botti, Sting, Macy Grey, Michel Legrand and Tamar Gverdtsiteli. Argo Entertainment Center And Batumi Cable Car 2 km of cable car link Batumi's waterfront with the Argo Entertainment Center development on Anuria Mountain, sitting at 250 meters above sea level. The complex offers spectacular views of the town, the Black Sea, and the surrounding mountains. The center includes restaurants, cafes, retail shops, open air halls, and roof terraces. Gonio-Apsaros Fortress  Gonio-Apsaros Fortress is located 12 km south of Batumi, on the left bank of the River Chorokhi. One of the Georgia’s most ancient settlements was located around this fortress. Due to its strategic location, Gonio-Apsaros became a supporting citadel first for the Romans and later to the Byzantines and Ottomans along the eastern Black Sea coastline. Respectively, the fortress has several layers: the Roman layer (3rd-4th cc BC), the Byzantine layer (6th-7th cc AD) and the Ottoman layer (16th c AD)

  • 06:00 Observation of predatory bords from Kolkheti Swamp - Kolkheti National Park is a national park located in the historical region of Colchis in western Georgia. It lies on a coastal plain on the Black Sea. Kolkheti National Park was once part of the tropical and partly subtropical zone of the Tertiary period that stretched over the continent of Eurasia. The swamps and wetland forests of the park contain a number of endangered species. Rare peat bog of Ispani is part of Kobuleti preserve territory. Kobuleti Protected areas are distinguished by the diversity of migratory bird species. These places are very rich in plant species.
  • birding in georgiaIspani swamp (Kobuleti Managed Reserve) is a percolating domed swamp of universal importance, which nourishes  onlyby rainwater. The general background of the swamp is formed by peatmoeese: sphagnum species, the so-called “Imeretian sedge”, white rhynchispora (beak-sedge), the Caucasian rhynchospora, peat sedge, water clover, round-leaved  drosera and some others. From rare and endangered animals should be noted otter (Lutralitra). As for birds here can be found species included in the “Red List” of Georgia (5 species: Saviyaryati; mcirekirkita; beqobisarwivi; TeTrkudaarwivi; didimyivanaarwivi), as well as Europe-wide (28 species) rare and endangered species such as: golden merops, kingfishers, little commorant, yellow heron, ibis, black stork and others. In addition, here are represented 7 species of endangered birds, for example: Valley Montagu’s Harrier, Lesser Kestrel, field lawping, great snipe, corncrake and others.

bird watching georgiaBotanical Garden proved to be a reliable spot for many species. Boasting one of the widest varieties of flora in the world, Batumi Botanical Garden was established in 1912 by the prominent botanist and geographer Andrey Krasnov. The garden is 111 hectares and contains flora from nine phyto-geographic areas: East Asia, North America, New Zealand, South America, the Himalayas, Mexico, Australia, the Mediterranean, and the Caucasian humid subtropics. • bird watching in georgiaBird watching from Mtirala National Park- is a protected area in Adjara region, Georgia. Covering approximately 15,698 hectares in the western Lesser Caucasus, it is situated between the Black Sea and the Adjara Mountains. It also adjoins Kintrishi Protected Areas.For birds such as the stunning Krueper's Nuthatch these forests but also those situated at the coast provide a reliable chance of observation. Especially the Botanical Garden proved to be a reliable spot for many species. Green Warbler and Caucasian Chiffchaff are seen and heard many times. Greater, Middle and Little Spotted Woodpeckers are heard quite often whilst Black Woodpecker and especially White-backed Woodpecker prove harder to see. Migratory passerines can be seen foraging from tree to tree, including the common Spotted Flycatcher and Red-throated Flycatcher. Widespread residents displaying local varieties of the nominate plumage include ChaffinchJay and Long-tailed Tit. To a lesser extent Tawny Owl can be heard and several records of Sombre Tit have occured in the duration of the project. White-throated Dippers (ssp. caucasicus) are easily spotted on the large boulders lying in the mountain rivers. Whilst exploring the mountains one would definitely see huge numbers of migrating or hunting Bee-eaters (their distinctive calls can be heard constantly in September) accompagnied by some decent numbers of RollerCrossbillsSiskinTawny Pipit and Ortolan Bunting.

Built during the 6th century A.D., it held an important strategic position at the crossroads of the route linking Georgia with Iran and Armenia. The fortress is one of the most significant monuments on the entire eastern coast of the Black Sea.
